Lund Pre School Profile
Lund Pre-School has been an established childcare facility since 1969 and the Pre-School is fully OFSTED registered for full day care. The Pre-School is based at Newton with Clifton Village Hall, Newton. A two minute drive from kirkham on the A583. The Village Hall has recently been modernised and is more than adequate for a childcare setting. The Pre-School is also a modern setting with many new fixtures and fittings which make a pleasurable environment for both adults and children.
Children from the age of two years can start at Lund Pre-school. The staff do not insist that the children are potty trained as they feel that this practice is discrimative. Children who are 3 years old are entitled to use the Government “Nursery Education Grant,”the first term after their third birthday.

The main aim of Lund Pre-School is to offer affordable quality childcare for any family in the surrounding areas. The main priority is “Learning Through Play”. Which is the Pre-Schools motto. Young children learn through informal play and the Pre-School staff support the children in activities which interest them.
All the staff are local, friendly ladies who are Qualified and Experienced. The staff are also First Aid trained and are all CRB cleared to work with children. The Pre-School has also expanded to offer Lunch time care and Afternoon care due to the changing needs of todays parents.
Lund Pre-school also offers a large secure outdoor play area which is enclosed to the rear of the Village Hall. The children access the outdoor area on a daily basis. This is a big advantage as new government legislation (The Early Years Foundation Stage – EYFS) comes into force from September 2008. This advises that "all children must have access to outdoor provision on a daily basis."
Lund Pre-school is also unique as it offers holiday care. Many Pre-Schools close during the school holidays, however the managers of Lund Pre-school applied for a Sure Start grant. They were successful in there bid late June of 2007 and have now opened Newton Holiday Club, which offers care for children aged 3 -11 years. Bridging the gap for parents who need full time care.
