Wyre's Local Area Forums Invite You

There's lots to get people talking at the next round of Local Area Forums in Wyre.

As always, members of the public are welcome to attend the evening meetings - organised by the Wyre Strategic Partnership - to hear what's going on in their community and ask questions of key players.

Thornton gets the ball rolling on Thursday 2 April at Thornton Little Theatre. Agenda items include the Wyre Power Community Chest, a scheme which gives grants to local groups courtesy of Wyre Power, the company behind the proposed multi-million pound power station at Hillhouse.

Health provision in Fleetwood and the North Fleetwood Neighbourhood Management plan will be discussed on Tuesday 7 April at the North Euston Hotel. There will also be an update on CCTV and a report on the Participatory Budget event which rewarded worthy causes in North Fleetwood.

The Cleveleys forum, on Tuesday 14 April at the Frank Townend Centre, will include a presentation by the Thornton Cleveleys Association of Commerce and Trade and an open discussion on developing a plan for the town to address its main issues.

Interest in the Rural West forum, scheduled for Wednesday 22 April, from 7pm to 9pm at St Aidan's School, Preesall, is expected to be high after Canatxx agreed to attend to answer questions about its gas storage plans with the Protect Wyre Group. Planning officers from Lancashire County Council and Wyre Borough Council will also be in attendance.

Poulton's area forum will be held on 21 April at St Chad's Church Hall, Vicarage Road. The agenda has yet to be set but details will be available shortly on the Wyre Strategic Partnership website: http://www.mywyre.co.uk/wsp/poulton-area-forum.

Councillor Russell Forsyth, Chair of the Wyre Strategic Partnership, said: "Local Area Forums provide an opportunity for people to become better informed about issues affecting their communities.

"There is also a chance to give valuable feedback to the various agencies who attend the meetings. All comments are taken on board and in many cases can help to shape local plans and priorities.".

All forums run from 7pm and 9pm.

If you can't wait... FYLDElife Forum is open now for your comments!
