What's On in and around Wyre
A look at what's going on in Wyre during the next few weeks starting with a quick reminder about the first Fleetwood Triathlon.
Hundreds of competitors have signed up for this exciting event on Sunday 27 September, which will see children and adults swim, run and cycle their way around the Waterfront. Some are entering just for fun, others have one eye on the winners podium. There are single entries right up to school teams taking part.
The youngest entrants (minimum age of seven) will swim two lengths of Fleetwood YMCA Leisure Centre pool before mounting their bikes and cycling a mile of the Promenade, which will be closed off to all other traffic. They ll finish with a 600m run around Marine Lake. The distances will then increase for each two-year age group.
Adults will be asked to swim 400m, cycle 12 miles and then run 5km. Medals and T shirts will be given out at the end of the race.
To enter, register online at www.ukresults.net. More details are available on 07748 283662.
