TVR finds home in Wesham

WESHAM is the new home for sports car firm TVR.

Having abandoned all of its Blackpool facilities, the sports car manufacturer has moved into a design studio at Wesham House Farm, just off the A585.

Owner Nikolai Smolenski made all 250 staff from Blackpool and Bispham redundant last year when the famous TVR factory closed its doors.

The move was an acrimonious one, with furious workers blasting the Russian millionaire for treating the firm like 'a new toy'.

However, the firm has now revealed plans for the Sagaris 2 - in what it is calling the first of a new generation of TVR sports cars.

However, mystery surrounds where the cars will actually be built - if at all.

Mr Smolenski has simply stated that they will be built in another European country.

TVR managing director David Oxley would not coment on where the cars will be built but confirmed: "The Wesham site is our design and development centre for our new generation of cars."
