MOVE ON UP, AFC FYLDE

MOVE ON UP, AFC FYLDE

Well over one thousand supporters witnessed AFC Fylde's most important game in the club's history today at Kellamergh Park - and their loyalty was rewarded with a major win.

AFC Fylde 5-0 New Mills (HT 1-0)

The final game of the Vodkat League season brought together rivals New Mills FC who were league leaders.  Fylde needed the three points from todays game to tie at the top of the tree. Knowing that their goal difference would see them through as winners and project them to the Unibond League next season, it was a must-win game for both clubs.

In preparation for todays fantastic result, the club has worked very hard off the field in recent weeks to ensure that the standards and facilities at Kellamergh Park were fit to grace Unibond football next season. David Haythornthwaite, the club's President told FYLDElife; "The club have invested around £125,000 in ground improvements to achieve the higher standards required to move on up. Most of which came from last season’s successful FA Vase run, with still further improvements planned in the coming 12 months".

FULL MATCH REPORT WILL APPEAR SOON VIA THE CLUB'S WEBSITE
