Massive wait for housing
More than 4,000 people are on Fylde Borough's waiting list for social housing - with just 1,800 homes on offer.
That means the average wait to be homed is more than two-and-a-half years in the area.
Fylde Council does have a pot of money - collected from developers from full-priced housing developments - to spend on making social housing, but is struggling to purchase land to develop.
At the moment, the authority is building 16 large homes in Freckleton and 80 flats in St Annes - but has no other schemes in the pipeline.
With a difficult economic period expected in England, the number of families on the housing list is expected to grow considerably. New Fylde Housing plans to build a further 360 affordable homes in the next year.
