Group Plans Takeover of Baths
Members of Urban Splash, the Kirkham and District Swimming Trust, are preparing to submit their Business Plan to Fylde Borough Council for the takeover and future running of Kirkham Baths.
Trust members Architects Croft Good Partnership are preparing plans to show how the existing facility can be preserved and enhanced. Trust members will shortly meet with Fylde Borough Council to arrange for the submission of their Business Plan.
Meanwhile Trust members are lining up a series of local fund raising initiatives which may include sponsorship and events to provide funds for the initial work the Trust volunteers need to have carried out.
Trust members Miranda Cox and Kristin Vogel are studying the methods used by volunteers in other pools around the country to save local swimming facilities.
Trust chairman Raymond Green said, "All members of the Trust are unpaid volunteers in the community who are giving hours of their time and their professional skills to help ensure the future of swimming in Rural Fylde. I would ask members of the public to support the fund raising events that are being organised and to use the facilities to help us all to achieve our long term objectives on behalf of the residents of Kirkham and Rural Fylde."
