Police confirmed that in excess of 2000 protestors attended the march through Kirkham & Wesham.

Organisers of Kirkham's protest march against the impending closure of the town's baths today were over the moon by the un-presidented show of support by their supporters. The Mayor of Kirkham, Councillor Liz Oades said she was truly grateful for the great turn-out and also thanked the local police for their assistance in helping such a large number of walkers pass through the streets safely.

A record crowd of over 1000 watched local team Kirkham & Wesham FC draw 3-3 against Coventry Sphynx. In an exciting game the final whistle blew at 2-2 leading to an extra half hour resulting in the final 3-3 scoreline.  A replay away at Coventry is expected. More details as we get them.
