FYLDE KEEPS THE CUSTOMER SATISFIED

FYLDE KEEPS THE CUSTOMER SATISFIED

Fylde Borough Council has come out trumps in a recent national survey when it comes to keeping the customer satisfied.

The Council has recorded the highest levels of satisfaction across Lancashire Districts for street cleansing and doorstep recycling services and the second highest for the refuse collection service.

The survey carried out in Autumn 2008 by IPSOS MORI on behalf of all the district councils in Lancashire also shows that the residents of Fylde have the strongest sense of community belonging with 85.5% of residents saying that they get on well with their neighbours.  When asked about the quality of homes in the borough 93% of residents were satisfied which is the second highest in Lancashire and 85.5% were satisfied overall with the Fylde as a place to live which is again the second highest in Lancashire.

Every local authority in the country has been required to carry out the survey under the strict guidance of the Audit Commission to ensure that the results are a true representation of the local community.  Across almost all service areas levels of satisfaction are amongst the best in Lancashire but there is room for improvement in leisure and engaging local people in local decision making.

Other services delivered by partners across the Fylde also showed high levels of satisfaction with highest in Lancashire for local GP’s, the Fire Service and local dentists and the second highest levels of satisfaction with local hospitals.

Councillor Albert Pounder, Portfolio Holder for Customer Services and Partnership working at Fylde said: ‘this is a ringing endorsement from the public that the services delivered across the Fylde borough are amongst the best in Lancashire.  The hard work and dedication of everyone at the Council and our partners in the Police, Fire and Health service is recognised and appreciated by the people that matter, the customer and tax payer of Fylde.’
