A look at what's happening in the next few weeks, starting with the launch of free sport sessions throughout the borough of Wyre.
Wyre Borough Council's successful Try Sport and Sports Unlimited programmes kick off their winter timetable from Monday 5 October.
A wide variety of sport is being offered after school and each weekday evening to boys and girls aged seven to 16. Some of the activities youngsters of all abilities can enjoy for free include:
- Football
- Netball
- Street dance
- Trampolining
- Canoeing
- Extreme golf
- Table tennis
- Tennis
Qualified coaches hold sessions across Wyre, including Fleetwood, Garstang, Preesall, Poulton and Great Eccleston, making good use of community facilities and existing sports clubs.
There is no need to book in advance - just turn up with an enrolment form signed by a parent or guardian. This can be downloaded from the Try Sport pages of the Wyre Borough Council website - www.wyrebc.gov.uk/Find/Sport_and_Leisure_for_Young_People - along with times and venues of sessions. Cleveleys Writers are a small group of freethinking writers of all abilities from scribblers to professional who meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
