£3 Million Housing Secured For Fylde
The Fylde Borough will soon see an investment of over £3Million in affordable housing after the Council secured Housing Corporation funding.
Fylde Borough Council's Registered Social Landlord Partnership has been successful in 11 bids to create new housing opportunities in the borough.
The successful bids will see a number of new developments as well as refurbishments to existing properties.
The housing supported through this funding is predominantly homes for rent, although there will be some shared ownership provision
Cllr Patricia Fieldhouse, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Housing, said: “This investment is fantastic news for Fylde and will see 86 new affordable homes for Fylde residents.
“There is significant need for affordable housing developments in Fylde and hopefully this will enable the registered social landlords to reduce their waiting lists.”
Successful projects include £600,000 that New Fylde Housing will use to create 15 new family homes on the Lower Lane Estate, Freckleton, which will be available to rent.
Ian Worley, Development Manager at New Fylde Housing, said: “We are delighted at the level of funding we have received from the Housing Corporation. It will enable us to provide much needed housing in the area.”
Registered Social Landlord partners include Fylde Borough Council, New Fylde Housing, Muir Housing and Five Piers Housing Associations.
