Q: How do I change my contact address, phone number etc?
A: If you are not already logged in you need to login to your control panel... Found Here. Once you are logged in or if you are
already logged in you can begin to change any of your details by clicking on the "View / Edit All My Details Link" in the
"My Details" Section. This should take you to a new page in which all your details appear in text boxes. Edit the information
you want to change and when you are happy with the changes click on the edit button. Your details will then be updated!
Q: How do I change my password?
A: If you are not already logged in you need to login to your control panel... Found Here. Once you are logged in or if you are
already logged in please click on the "View / Edit All My Details Link" in the "My Details" Section. This should take you to
a new page. On this page click on the "Change My Password" link underneath your E-Mail Address. You should now be on the page
to change your password. Enter in your current password in the top input box, then enter your new password into the two boxes
below. Click on the "Change Password" button and your password will be changed.
Q: Can I change my E-Mail Address?
A: At the present time you cannot change the E-Mail you use to login with. The reason for this is that it is essentially your
username for logging onto the website with, you cannot change it as it is a unique identifier to your account.
Categories & Profiles:
Q: What are the categories all about?
A: When you register with Fylde Life as a business one of the major benefits available to you is a listing in
the Business Directory, in your control panel you are able to choose up to 3 categories that your business will
be displayed in and this should be your first port of call upon registering so that your business details are
available to everyone who visits Fylde Life. Listing your business in the directory is completely free and
is an excellent way to advertise your business to local people in and around the Kirkham area.
The information displayed on your Business Directory Listing is the information you entered when you registered
with us so please make sure this is correct, if not you are able to edit this information in your control panel.
If you do not wish a piece of information to be displayed then leave it blank and the field will be ignored.
Below is a sample listing showing what it would look like in the directory, it also points out the major aspects
of the listing including the link to google maps from your postcode, your email address, website and profile
(if applicable).
Businesses in the Directory are listed alphabetically, the only exception to this rule is if a business
also subscribes to a business profile. Businesses with profiles are displayed before any other listing in
a category (also sorted alphabetically), this means that visitors viewing a category in the directory will see
these listings first and will more likely want to find out more about the company. The benefits of having a profile
will be explained in the next section.
Q: How do I select/change my categories?
A: The categories option is available in the control panel for businesses and clubs, in order to add or change your
categories select the link in the control panel and you will see 3 boxes that are full of categories to choose from.
Simply choose which categories you would like your business or club to be displayed in and click the "Add Categories"
button. If you wish to edit your categories just select different ones and your business / club will be automatically
refreshed.
Q: What are the profiles in Fylde Life?
A: Profiles are an added feature of the Fylde Life Business Directory and allow the business to have a full page
within Fylde Life dedicated to the company. There are a number of colour schemes to choose from, businesses can
upload a company logo to enforce their brand and have a large number of text boxes available so that a company
can insert information about their history, products and services. A small image gallery is also available so that
a business can upload any accompanying pictures.
One of the major advantages of having a profile is the listing within
the Directory will be display ahead of any other, it will also be a different colour so that it stands out and will
have a profile banner so that visitors can easily see you have a profile and can click on it with ease to see more
information about your business.
Profiles work on a subscription basis and cost a small number of credits per month. Profiles are automatically set
to renew each and every month depending on the number of credits you have left, this option can be turned on/off
in your control panel so that credits are not deducted from your account. Although once your profile is de-activated
it will no longer be accessible from the Business Directory and will not be displayed ahead of other businesses in
your category.
Q: How do I add/edit my profile?
A: The profile option is available in the control panel for businesses and clubs, in order to add or edit your profile
simply select the link and you will be directed to a page to add or edit your profile. Along with a company logo you as a business
/ club have the option to add a number of sections to your profile as well as a small image gallery. This information is fully
editable be you at any time so you can keep your profile up to date with all the latest news and information about your business
or club.
Classifieds:
Q: Is it free to list a classified?
A: Yes, it is completely free to list a classified on our website. For more information on how to list a classified please

Q: How long are classifieds listed for on the site?
A: At the present moment in time classifieds are listed for 30 days in the classifieds before they expire? For information on
re-listing an expired classified please click here.
Q: How do I list a classified?
A: If you are not already logged in you need to login to your control panel... Found Here. Once you are logged in or if you are
already logged click on the "Classifieds" tab. You must now decide which category your classified
would fit into:
Once you have decided which section please click on the relevant link under the section you wish to create a new type of that classified. You should then be taken to a page with a form in which to fill in your details.
Q: Can I edit or remove a classified?
A: Yes. To start click on the Edit/Delete button next to the classified you want to edit/delete. You will be taken to a
new page. The top half of the page contains all the information about your classified within text boxes. You can edit this
information and when you are happy with it click on the edit button. Your classified will then be updated. Please be aware, however,
that by editing your classified it will be submitted back to our staff for approval and will not appear in the classifieds
section until it is approved.
To remove the classified scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find an option to delete the classified. Click on the
delete button to delete the classified.
Q: I just created a classified but it isn't appearing in the classified section, why?
A: The moment you create a classfied listing it is not instantly listed on the site because it must be first verified by one
of our staff members. We have to check over your classified to make sure the content is safe for use on the site and then we
can make it available to other users. This process can take up to 24 hours. You can check the status of your classifieds at any
time by logging into your control panel and navigating down to the "My Free Classifieds" area and clicking on any of the view areas.
Under the status column is the status of the classified on that row. If it has a status of "Pending" then it is awaiting verification
from us. If it's status is "Published" then it will be viewable to others on the website in the classifieds area. If it's status is
"Declined" then we have not permitted your classified to be viewed on the site and you should edit it so that it is more appropriate.
Q: What does the status of my classified mean?
A: If it has a status of "Pending" then it is awaiting verification from us and it will currently not appear within the classifieds
section of the website. If it has a status of "Published" then it will be viewable to others on the website in the classifieds area. If the status is
"Declined" then we have not permitted your classified to be viewed on the site and you should edit it so that it is more appropriate.
Q: Why is my classified not appearing on the site anymore?
A: All classifieds on the site are displayed for 30 days after you posted them. After 30 days they expire, do not worry though, you
can re-list the item without having to enter in the information and waiting for us to approve it again by using the re-list function. For more

Q: How do I relist an expired classified?
A: If you are not already logged in you need to login to your control panel... Found Here. Scroll down
to the "My Free Classifieds" section and you should find a link called "View Older Classifieds". A new page should load and on this page
are all the classifieds you have listed that are more than 30 days old. If you want to put an item back into the classifieds then all
you need to do is click on the "Re-List" button next to the classified you want to re-list. The classified should now be available for
the next 30 days.
Q: What is the Control Panel?
A: The control panel is your very own administrative tool. With it you can do many things such as change you user details, manage your
advertising, list classifieds, list events and much more.
What's On & Events:
Q: Is it free to list an event?
A: Yes, it is completely free to list an event on our website. For more information on how to list an event please
follow this link.
Q: My event is not appearing in the events list on the website, why?
A: There are three possible reasons for this:
1: The events that are listed on the site are ones that only occur within the next 60 days. If your event occurs on a date that
is more than 60 days away from today then it will not appear on the website until it is 60 days or less until your event.
2: Your event may still be awaiting verification from us. You can check the status of your events at any time by looking under
the "My Events" area of the control panel. Click on "View My Events Listings" and underneath the Status column you will find the status
of your event. If it's status is "Pending" then it is still awaiting verification from us.
3: Your event may have already happened. We do not list events that are in the past on the website.
Q: How do I list an event?

Scroll down to the "My Events" area and click on the "Create a new event" link. You will be taken to a new page where you can fill
in all the details about your event. When you are happy with the details click on the "Create Event" button.
Q: I just created / edited an event but it isn't appearing on the site, why?
A: Your event may still be awaiting verification from us. You can check the status of your events at any time by looking under
the "My Events" area of the control panel. Click on "View My Events Listings" and underneath the Status column you will find the status
of your event. If it's status is "Pending" then it is still awaiting verification from us. We must verify every event that you
post so that we can check the details are correct and that it is safe to list on the site. Verification usually takes less than
24 hours.

Q: One of my events has been cancelled, how do I take it off the site?
A: You can delete any event you have listed by clicking on the Edit/Delete button that is next to it under
the "View My Events Listings..." link in the "My Events" section of the control panel. You will then be taken to a new page.
Scroll down the page until you find a section called "Delete an Event". Click on the "Delete" button and your event will be removed
from the website.
Jobs:

Q: My job is not appearing in the jobs list on the website, why?

Scroll down the page until you find a section called "Delete a job". Click on the "Delete" button and your job will be removed
